BAY AREA DAY TRIP IDEAS

There are plenty of fun activities and destinations to see in the Bay Area, and I’d like to share a couple of my favorites. Whether you’re a traveler looking for things to do in San Francisco and the Bay Area, or a curious local looking to expand your horizons, these are two places you should definitely add to your day trip itinerary.

Winchester Mystery House

Architecture Museum, History Museum, Haunted House

In 1884, after her husband, gun manufacturer William Wirt Winchester, passed away, Sarah Winchester bought the house. With nothing but time, a $20 million inheritance, and alleged ghost hauntings, she just kept building rooms for four decades. Today, the number of rooms totals 160. Guided tours are held daily. This place will blow your mind!

Silicon Valley Skydiving

A California parachute jump from the highest altitude definitely deserves a spot on your list. Skydiving in the bay area is top-notch. With beautiful views of Monterey Bay and the ocean, Santa Lucia Mountain Range, Sierra Nevadas, and even the Golden Gate Bridge, freefall is the best way to see all the sights. No experience necessary; for your first bay area skydive you and your group (nobody under 18, sorry) can jump with a tandem instructor with all your necessary briefings done shortly before the jump! Don’t worry, the instructor has a lot more training than that. Like, a LOT.
